Hows the twin turbo kit going for the e39 M5 going?

Non-existent for a couple reasons.

First, I haven't found the car that I want. I want a Velvet Blue Metallic M5, and can't seem to find one in the US. I know that they exist, but have yet to find the current owner of one. I've considered going for other colors, but they'll likely leave me wanting and a repaint isn't what I want either.

Second, it's the car that we plan to build as the replacement for my M3 as my daily driver. Unless I find a Velvet Blue Metallic M5 before Spring of '08, the build won't start until at least then.

.
These are the official colors, and individual would be pretty rare in the U.S:

Exterior Colors:
Alpine White III (300), Imola Red (405), Jet Black (668), Titanium Silver metallic (354), Avus Blue metallic* (276), Le Mans Blue metallic** (381), Anthracite metallic*** (397), Sterling Grey metallic**** (472), Silverstone metallic*** (425), Blue Water metallic**** (896), Royal Red metallic*** (390), Chiaretto Red metallic**** (894), Oxford Green metallic (324), Carbon Black metallic (416)
*thru 02/00
**from 03/00
***thru 08/01

That might explain why you can't find Velvet blue!

Jerry

Is there something that would show how many of each color were ordered/sold?

I should have stated that it's an individual. I've spoken with one of the previous owners, and it looks like there are at least two of them stateside, although it may be the same car. They were previous members here...

Pics of my baby - San Francisco
Velvet Blue for sale - San Antonio

Any help finding one is appreciated though.

So any word on the DNF? The first quarter of that race was a hard section.
A few top runners didn't make it through it.

'Spoke to Martin a few days ago. He's not a happy camper.

Good news: Engine and tranny ran strong. They were 4th out (in class) behind the bikes and Trophy Trucks. Within 10 miles, they passed the 3 class 1 buggy's that went 1st. After 50 miles, they had passed 12 Trophy Trucks; 8 on the course and 4 broken and parked.

Bad news: At 177 miles in, the first of a whole series of little BS things went wrong; starting with a power steering hose going south. They kept fixing and going, fixing and going. Finally, when Martin realized they were 7 hours behind, he put the buggy on the trailer and headed for home. He said, last he heard, with just 6 hours left in the race time limit, only 30 vehicles (including bikes) had finished; out of over 400 vehicles that started.

Tough course; tough day. Better luck next time.
