reving to almost 6k and engine cuts and ses light comes on

what is going on? i dont even get to the orange light before 7 and my engine cuts... it the limiter set lower? any help please. after this happens the ses turns on and when i press the gas the car is nonresponsive. when i turn it off and back on it is back to normal. anyone help me?

the ses turns off when i restart the car. so this is not normal to hit a fuel cut before 6K? i am pretty young but i take it easy on the car because i love it and want it to last. but i cant resist a nice 3rd and 4th gear pull to the higher revs. as far as the chicago meet i will stop byif im not working sunday which i usually am.

did you do the maf test. have you checked for vacume leaks, ck the clamps around the mafs and the plenum

bet you my muffin this problem is due to the emissions recall which can be resolved for free by a dealer.
