Scarab green
This colour may not have been available in the USA, but it was in Canada. I just got my '03 Scarab Green about a month ago. The original owner purchased the car in March '04 in Edmonton, Alberta. It has a black interior and a April '03 build date.
The colour is very interesting. In overcast or flourescent light it looks deep green. In the bright sunshine it looks deep purple/maroon, exactly like the pictures show in an earlier post. In low lighting, it appears dark grey/black. I'm sure that the colour got it's name from the Scarab Beetle, which, depending on the light can look green, purple, grey, or black. My wife and I have a little game going on. It's called "What colour is the M5 today? :biggrinbounce:
I took the accompanying picture to show the type 66 wheels that I purchased from another board member. The sun did catch a bit of the car, so the purple shows there. Otherwise, the colour is green.
I love the colour. Perhaps now even more so knowing that it is rare in North America.
Any other Scarab Green cars out there?
Regards,
Alex
