Went to Atco yesterday for a rental and made literally 20 runs in under 11.9 seconds. My best was an 11.775 @ 118.69. All on PS2's. My 60' times were generally in the 1.71 to 1.74 range.

I have heard great things about the Toyo R888's. I think that they replaced the RA-1's.
Wow! Excellent 1/4 mile and 60' elapsed times! Congratulations. I think you may be on to something with your burn out/launch technique. BTW, are you running stock rear end gearing? Your 1/8 mile ET has to be incredible.

With regard to different tires, I think I'll go with a set of cheater slicks next rather than another set of Toyo's. I'm looking for a set of rims at the moment. If you know anyone who has some they'd like to sell let me know. TIA

I'm running stock everything except for the PS2's (which are now 275 widths). I think the rear is a 2.62.

My 1/8th was a 7.580 @ 92.53 for my best run and ranged from 7.597 @ 92.32 to 7.610 @ 92.25 for my other 11.80 runs.

As for rims, Tirerack has some very cheap and very light weight Kosei wheels. They weigh like 18 - 19 lbs and cost 199. IMO, perfect for the strip. Does the S3 have strenghtened half-shafts? I am sure that you know that running true drag radials puts stress on parts of the car that normally don't see it. But if you want to run with the real big boys, you have to take those risks. I'm content to break traction.

Hell if I could run a 1.760 60' time the way you can on your PS2s, I wouldn't need cheater slicks! The best we've seen is just under 2.0 which is when she ran a 12.3 at nearly 117 mph. It will be a whole new ballgame for us once we get the supercharger to put out 7.5 psig instead of 3 to 4 psig.

26 psi is hurting you on the stock tires...

The Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial tires (probably in a 275/40(ish)-17 for the back of the 5 would be a good choice.

Just keep in mind that with more traction you WILL find the next weakest link-whether its the driveshaft, the clutch, the axle/half-shafts or possibly the guibo.

And hopefully not the airbags.

Good luck!
