Pricing help / 2003 M5

Well, as much as I hate to admit it... I may be selling my beast soon. I've got a line on a sweet 993 TT that I just may not be able to walk away from. However, the wife has laid down the line and is making me sell the m5 if I get another p-car. I was hoping to get some pricing advice from the forum before I list through the normal channels (autotrader, ebay, etc)

So, the rough details are as follows:

I am the second owner, purchased 8/06 with 25,000 miles. Since then I've put only 7K miles on the car (odometer reads 32,474 today).

Sterling grey with black interior. The car is immaculate (really!). not a single scratch or ding on the entire car. I don't think anyone has even ever sat in the back seats.

Completely stock, except hardwired for v1 and sirius satellite radio. No mechanical issues whatsoever and certified preowned warranty is effective until April of 2009. Car routinely serviced at local dealer only. Never tracked (I have a p-car for that). I essentially drive the car to work on mondays (tues-thurs go in with wife; friday is porsche day) and we use it for weekend day trips (we have a Volvo XC90 for longer family trips with the dogs).

I also have transferrable dealer-purchased warranties for the wheels, tires, scratch/ding repair, and interior.

Options include skibag passthrough.

Essentially, that's it in a nutshell... immaculate, low milage, worry free car with 18 months left on the BMW pre-owned warranty. Feedback on price please (and I'm not in a rush or desperate and will wait for the appropriate buyer). Thoughts?

almost forgot... for full disclosure, I did discover a small 1-2 mm bubble near the gas filler area (I did post on this previously). I did elect to leave it alone as it is not progressing, extremely small and not noticable, and I did not want to raise any red flags by respraying. The purchaser may elect to have my address this at my expense; however, I would recommend leaving it alone.

I'd say $40-42K would be reasonable. Without warranty I would have said high 30's.

I'd also say: Keep the beast - who wants another Porsche?

Low-end 38K High-end maybe 42K? I know 03s with less than half that mileage and CPO go for about 45-47k. I should mention I have been looking mostly in CA where prices tend to run high. Good luck with the sale and getting the porsche.

Regards,

My friend is in the same dilema. 03 sterling with 35k on the clock. $tealer wants to give him $34k on the trade in. He currently has it for sale for $42k entertaining all offers above $40k. He still had remainder of CPO till June 2010. Difficult time of the year to sell. He's going to hold onto it till the spring and re-list it for sale. Food for thought - hope it helps.

thanks

for $40K, I'll keep her... there's just no replacing this car for that paultry sum. But then again, that 993 tt is calling my name.... (perhaps I can live with $42K).
