        Austin exhaust query - Dinan?

I've been grappling with exhaust as the first update to my M5. I've followed the Magnaflow discussions with interest, and like the Remus look. I had an AA GENIII system on my last M3 that I loved, but see they do nothing for the e39 M5. So I keep coming back to a basic list of wants:

1.) Staggered tips like the OEM if possible
2.) Slightly oversized tips (3" ish, not 3.5)
        3.) Black cannister if possible
4.) Nice enhanced sound without being overly loud or glass-packish and no drone if possible.

Dinan seems to fill these needs based on what I read and remains an OEM/authorized tuner if that is worth a bit more than a straight aftermarket exhaust. Knowing none of the cat back systems do anything in terms of real performance gains, aesthetics and sound are all thats left.

I have yet to hear an aftermarket exhaust on an M5 in real life and was hoping someone in Austin may have one I could lean an ear to.

If you do, please let me know - I'd sure apreciate a listen.

        Thanks in advance.

Hopefully someone has something for ya. I am sure Austin would have something. I know my car is there waiting to be picked up. Too bad the car I bought has stock exhaust so I am of no help there.

The Remus has DTM tips not staggered though, you liked the look of the can or the tips?

Nota - I'm happy to meet up anytime if you happen into town. Thanks for the heads up.

As for the Remus - I despise the DTM tips, I like the original 76mm or 80mm (whatever they were) round tips (very simple and clean) and the fact the cans were black.

        thanks for the responses!

Is BMW of Austin still a Dinan dealer?
I seem to remember them having the logo on the window.
Wonder if anyone there could help you out if one of the board members with Dinan exhaust isn't available.
They might be able to contact you if a customer has it done and you could check it out. I guess it depends on how close you are or if you like them...
