        [E39 Related] New Daily Driver...

So, even though I'm selling my M5, it's spoiled me to the creature comforts available in newer BMWs. I have been looking for a good E39 wagon to replace my 1985 325e as my daily driver, and finally picked one up today. It's a 2000, automatic (unfortunately), with 260,000 miles...so yeah, she needs a bit of work here and there. I picked her up for a song though (under $5,000), so I can't complain.

At the very least this means I'll remain part of the E39 family after I sell the M5 ...

It's on its original transmission ...

Needs a thermostat, belts and hoses, water pump (just for safety), exhaust leak needs to be fixed...front wheels are slightly bent, I'll put some newly refinished Style 5s on there.

It was sold to me by the dealership where my girlfriend works. It was originally bought there and maintained there by the original owner all its life, until it was traded in last week. So, it has a full service history.

That is an evil, evil idea.

I'll keep my eyes open for a wrecked M5, now that you mention it .

Yes, it's got BMW LL-01 "Lifetime" transmission fluid. Not sure how often it was changed -- I should be getting some service history tomorrow. My girlfriend will probably change it tomorrow at work, and the diff fluid at the same time.
