        Airflow to brakes

Removed the front bumper to get it resprayed as i was fed up with it being stone chipped, i stripped everything of the bumper to make it easy for them to respray. While i was waiting for the bumper i decided to open up the grill to flow some air to the brakes, i fitted the air ducts i had from a 540 sport, bought new wheel arch liners and cut out the grill.
While the bumper was off the car i drove it a few times and found i was very responsive (more than usual), almost as if it had a remap. I put it down to a more direct airflow without the bumper in the way. I'm looking to run a tube from the airbox to behind the fog light opening but can't find any fog light covers to suite.Sorry for the quality of the photo's, dodgy camera phone.
        Wane.

You can use your existing fog light cover and cut around the inside using a dremel tool and put a screen behind it (with super glue)...I think elevens and some other members have done this...check out some previous threads...

I was going to do the fog light modification but ended up going with the AA CAI instead. If anyone is interested I have a set of brand new OEM unmodified R/L fog light surrounds that were never used. I payed $40 for both of them. Let me know if anyone wants them. I'll send them out to you for $35 and i'll cover shipping (continental US). PM me if interested.

I drilled out the centers of each square then carefully used a craft knife to remove the rest, lots of patience needed.
In my opinion cutting the grill out is more discrete than fitting the round rings, but more time consuming.

Very nice. I've always hated that BMW left these two areas blocked off.

I agree, which is why I bought the 540i M-sport grille and flat blacked the T bar. The ducts clip into it and the T bar purportedly helps with airflow....but who knows, I just took the lazy route.
