Regrets? I had a few

Nah....just wondering if I did the right thing to order it without the vents.... With them...is very...sexy but to much... but cant stop thinking about it

I will be happy with this one too.

Mine will be painted in racing green.

1. No need for clear coat as it has been clear coated by Vorsteiner and gel coated on the bottom...

2. No weakness that i know of...

1. Do I have to clear coat it, or can I use the hood untreated ?
2. Is CF known to have any weakness in very cold climates ?

In advance, thanks

What I'd like to do is paint my Vorsteiner hood like this...in such a way that it has a smooth, weave-free mirror finish and looks jet black until close inspection. I'm looking for show-quality. These guys have an impressive portfolio of car pix. Just wish they were a little closer

If I'm not able to find a similar capability here in Chi-town, I might be shipping my hood!

Dave,

I have looked hard and far to find http://candccollision.com/ ( a shop that will work on our ideas and has alot of experience with custom work ) and if you need any help from them, don't hesitate to pm me...heck a board member from NorCal will be bringing his car to CandC for the hood install and paint/body work aswell

What is good about Nathan, Rett and their team is they are enthusiast like us (hungry for quality work) and have been in the show car scene/ magazines and now focuses on alot of collision damage but always have time for enthusiast like us...the coolest guys you'll ever meet

More pictures,

Just a few pictures of the car after I picked it up. C&C did an amazing job. I can't be happier.

Here is a close up of the hood showing the weave. You can see the C&C sign reflected on it.

Next morning under the sun.

The Vorsteiner hood is the best quality CF hood you can buy for our E39s. I have a few nitpicks regarding gaps on the side, but you can't have everything right? I want to thank C&C Collision for an awesome job they did on the hood. And also Chris aka Laidback for all his work first getting the hood made.

I know I'm not supposed to be able to feel the ~20lbs weight difference from the new hood, but I keep telling myself I do... or maybe that's just my lighter wallet .
