Joyride at Savage BMW

Well just got my beast back today from the dealer. (Install new upper rear control arm) I take a picture of my car along with mileage everytime I take it in the dealer. Well after I got back my car I had an extra 30 miles on the car! I had about half a tank in the car when I got it, I had my gas light on! Well I complained to my SA and well he's looking into it and gave me a full tank of gas. If I brought in my X5...you know there'll be no extra miles on because it's "just" an X5....you put a different letter in front of it then it's like hey "joy ride".

A tank of gas????

How about a clutch?

A test drive is appropriate for suspension work, but only 5 miles.

As to speak with the person who drove all 30 miles... look them in the eye.

Terrible news, a tank of gas for joyriding...lame. Who was your Service Advisor?

Edit: And if you can find out the name of the person who worked on your car. I take my car there sometimes and would like to know who to avoid.

It took a minute of searching, but I thought this dealership name sounded familiar! Take a look at one "lucky" M3 owners experience with joyriding at Savage.

I reminded my SA about that little incident and he said we can't afford anyone here doing that. He has a day off today and I'll call him tomorrow and see if he found anything out and at least the ba$tard who took my car for a ride. I'll post his name here once I find out.

I used to bring in my track-prepped Corvette in for service (rarely) at the dealer, and I would always put a note on the car saying "do not drive on public streets". Sometimes I add in "illegal race tires and high temperature brake pads" so that they'd think I'm doing it for their safety, not to protect my car. On the M5, I'd be tempted to pull some plug coils or something...

"Please fix suspension. Disregard car running on 3 cylinders."

Michael

Just toss a moltov cocktail through the SA's window an then pay for the glass. That seems fair by his standard.

You know I have always thought of getting one of those GPS monitoring devices that can give off speed and millage driven with a full report on them and letting the SA know I have one in the car and that it can not be disabled.
