M5Monster....
Good to see-ya get the Aussie Powerchip done.
You now know just how much more this engine has to offer.
Bang for buck the chip programme is the first and best option to get for your beast. 20+ hp for under US$1,000. For that money an exhaust will get ya a few extra HP.
What exhaust system do you have?
A pair of free flow filters will also change the sound as well as the exhaust helping power.
I loved that the torque is miles stronger from 1000rpm.
It made the car feel 200-300lbs lighter.
You know the feeling of when you drive 2-3 extra people in the car (not as sharp).....thats how the standard M5 did feel like compared to the upgrade. Monster will know what l mean
The VANOS question l don't know about.
I don't think it's been much of a problem (could be wrong) I wouldn't worry about it.
If the ECU had to be reprogremmed by BMW, it might erase Powerchips programme, or just fix the VANOS problem. I would think that Powerchip will put it back to their programme as long as it won't affect the VANOS system.
l will call them tonight and tell them all about it. I am very sure they would be very happy to sort it out.
Get a some dyno runs with the chip/exhaust if you have one/filter and let me know.
My engine was running just a bit under the normal power, so i would like to see your results
