Upgrade to 16:9 Nav Screen??

HI, I have the smaller screen in my car.. the 2000 BMW Nav. I was wondering which model this is exactly.. I know they go by MKIV ...?? Does anyone know which is mine and also i wanted to know if i buy the new screen the 16:9 will it just be plug and play or would i need to buy a new nav. CD or what exactly what would i have to buy. Thank You

Yes its plug and play, no you dont need a CD unless you upgrade the Nav computer itself.

Upgrading the screen to 16:9 is a very simple plug and play. here's the link for it 2000 M5 MKII to MKIV Upgrade

For the navigation computer, you have the MK2. That would work with the new screen. The MK3 is faster and the MK4 is DVD based.

Great upgrade. The 16:9 takes about 10 years off of the look of the interior. Several people thought that I bought a new car.

Well it's personal prefrence. I've had a 16:9 screen sitting in the garage for 3 months now but I still have original in.
I like the bigger screen, but I don't like the way it looks

I posted a thread a while back regarding who has done custom work with their navigation screens and who `has touchscreen double din's i would put that in but from what i found there were none where i found it to look nice, I like the more stock system look in the car

No need to get petty. Just because its easier, does not necessarily make it better. BMW's nav can do everything that the aftermarket ones can do.
