Feedback on Lidatek vs Blinder?

well I am planning on doing the brake duct install, so I thought I'd install my Lidatek, now Ive got a LE-20 and LE-30 in the box dual heads that I just havent gotten around to installing, so now the big question shouild I do it or should I buy the Blinder instead? I dont car about the cost, I just want the best

I think if you do the search on GOL that you will find the Blinder came out ahead of the Lidatek, although there was a recent thread about this and I want to say there was another company that did even better.
I have also heard that Blinder will be coming out with a new jammer shortly, you may want to find out which one they are currently selling??

blinder currently sells the m40...they are going to come out with the m45 shortly. my advice is wait for the blinder m45 to come out and do an install of that.

sounds good, I really would like to do a Blinder Lidatek combo, but I think the wiring would be overwhelming to me

oh both?

would you do it yourself or have someone else do it?
because it would be worth it if you had someone else do it...but doing it yourself would be quite the undertaking. definately not the "one weekend project" if you know what i mean.

I have heard good things about the Passport SRX, and can actually get it for about $1000 bucks from a buddy (I think retail is around $1500!). Anyone have experience with the passport?

I've been at several Laser jammer tests personally and have seen the following systems tested.

LPP
Lidatek (I can't remember which model)
Escort SRX
Blinder M20 and M40.
and several pre-production units... I don't remember what they were

the LPP was the best but not by much. The SRX and the Lidatek are great units, but we were able to punch through on them where as I can only remember once ever getting a reading on someone with an LPP. I would feel safe on all three of these systems. One of the pre-production systems did very well too (jammed everything that day just like the LPP,) but the owner said he'd been testing system for a long time and usually the production versions are never as good as the beta units. He didn't explain why.. that's just what he said.

The Blinder however, did not do so well. One system was absolute junk. The driver had an E46 and we could punch through anytime we wanted. In fact, about the only time it jammed was when we'd aim right at the head. The car also had to be close enough for us to actually aim it that well too. at 2000ft it was useless. Another person with an M40 did much better, however we were consistantly able to get readings on him by aiming at the edge of the car (catch the corners of the headlights) Randomly the laser guns would get though at various distances for no aparrant reason. I wouldn't feel safe with this system.

Rear mounted jammers didn't do very well either. Not many people have rear mounted jammers, but for those that did the license plate was usually covered, but the rear tail lights always gave a reading if aimed at.

Well I hope there is better than the Blinder out there, but I don't remember a negative comment ever from a board member who actually owns one. I have a Blinder M20 in the M5 and it's worked flawlessly the few times I've been painted by laser. Highly recommended from my experience.

I would try to do it myself, most of the people in my town who do installs are the same people who sat in the back of the class in high school and they were high too! soldering gun holes in seats and screwed up wiring make me very wary of anyone touching my baby! Heres what Im thinking, I have already tapped the wire in the garage door opener area for my V-1, so Im thinking maybe I can tap the OBD for one jammer and then Im wonderin if the telephone power wire in the center console can somehow be tapped for a second. There are other things Im wanting to add including strobes and CB in the future and it seems like Im running out of switched power to tap

how do you know it worked? is it possible he fired before you were in range and you got speed down in time? I think it hard to tell unless you are doing a test with a gun in hand
