iPod question

hey folks,

Sorry if i'm being a bit ignorant here, but what options do we e39 owners have if we want to use our iPods via the M5's speakers?

There are plenty of threads on this topic, search for ipod. I myself have a unit from a UK firm called the Intravee II. It integrates with the BMW ibus system. I am able to control the ipod via the NAV display as well as perform some functions via the steering wheel (pause, advance track, etc).

intravee, DICE, Icelink plus. I have the DICE which supposedly is an improvement on the Icelink. It uses the CD changer connections.
You can always use things like Griffin iTrip or the tape player interface thingy, but your best sound will come from a direct line in interface.

Is there any way to retrofit the OEM Aux input in a pre-2003 M5 (my car is a 2002 with a Oct 2001 build date)? Thanks.

/Rich

+1 for DICE set-up... I'm pleased with it and it was easy.

+2 on the Dice.

Only minor annoyance is the little "skip" at the beginning of each song. Presumably related to the ID3 tag being displayed on the Nav Screen.

Trojanman, does yours do this?

slight highjack - Blockdoc, mine does the same thing. I got around it by always playing music in Playlist mode (CD2), and selecting songs, albums etc with the ipod controls themselves.

+3 on DICE.

My original DICE module did that, and was told to return it for a replacement. New module works like a champ! Contact the company you got yours from and ask them for a replacement.
