OT: Need recommendation of Dealers in the NY Metro Area

Been trying to search for some recommendations of dealers in the NY metro area but had no luck. Can any of you guys who have purchased and/or have your car serviced in this area recommend and comment on your experiences at the local dealerships? I would very much appreciate it if you comment on sales and more importantly on service as well. I live in Manhattan, and have heard many different comments about the dealership here. There's nothing like word of mouth from you car enthusiasts.

I appreciate your responses. Thanks a bunch!

I use BMW of Manhattan for routine stuff; oil changes, door dings etc. They're more convenient than anything else. They're just so damn big their customer service is non-existent.

But if your car requires close attention or a complex repair, I've had good experiences with Rallye Motors (Roslyn, NY) and several members of our NY posse just rave about Competition & Sports Cars of Greenwich CT.

They've won the president's award for 8 years in a row!

        worth a look

        Cheers.

Most dealerships that I spoke with in NY wanted a premium of $5K! A few in Jersey as well. I am not sure if things are still the same from 3 months ago. Manhattan BMW wanted a $10K premium for a Feb. built car.

Oyster Bay NY is where I am getting mine from this Sat. Give them a try. 1-516-922-0930, ask for Jim Barnard.

I've purchased a '97 540I and a '00 M5 from Habberstadt BMW in Huntington Station, NY (Long Island). The salesman Howard Shulman was excellent 631-271-7177.

More importantly, their service dept is just great. Big enough and small enough. Their shop foremen is Dave Craft, an expert BMW man who is not only knowledgeable but easy to speak with and a gentleman. For service they have been great!

Ive had mixed experiences where ever I go. I find this is the case- its more the people/person you deal with rather than the whole dealership.

        Max,
I checked their website- they make it inviting, thats a welcome change!
