Hole in crank case hose

Might seem like an obvious answer to the question, but the last couple of days I noticed my Beast to be kind of down on torque it seemed. I went to the track and it really ran bad. Best I could manage was a 13.7 when my previous best was a 13.2 and usually running 13.3 and 13.4 consistently. Anyways, when I was looking over my engine bay, I noticed a good sized hole in my crank case hose on the right cylinder head. I immediatly ordered a new one from the dealer. Is this by any chance the reason why my beast has been running like ***** lately?

If it's the ventilation hose, then no. It won't affect perfomance. Try the MAFS.

First, replace both hoses. For $20 each there's no reason not to.

Second, it allows air into the intake without going through the MAF, so it could make the engine run "off" a bit.

Mine ran better when I replaced the hoses - they were soft and mushy but no visible holes.

I had them both replaced because of holes in them aswell, but absolutely no difference in performance.

Change it out. Run it. And report the results. Echoing the previous comments MAFs should be checked if the performance is still down.

Any unmetered air entering the engine can fool the MAF's and cause the car to run rough. That's why it'll run like crap if the oil cap is loose.
