Blue and White checkered shield?

On countless M5's and just bmws in general, I've noticed a small blue and white checkered shield on the back. I've googled many terms to try and find out what it is all about, and more importantly where I can find one. I really like the look of this particular shield. Any help is MUCH appreciated!

Thanks
Paul

usually they are from the dealer that delivers the car.

Next time you see one... look at hte license plate for the dealer... they should have them

That blue and white checkered flag is actually a representation of the traditional flag of Bavaria, Germany.

You can contact the parts department at Otto's BMW and they'd gladly send you one for free.

Let me know if you need any assistance in getting one.
