Sl 500/55?

Just wondering if any of you guys have seen the new SL in person? I know we've all seen pictures but was wondering how it compared in person. Thanks,

Jim

I see one daily on my way to school! It looks really nice! It's a silver one with black interior!
Anyway I think, due to its autobox, it's not a real sportscar, although it has a 5-litre V8. It's rather a car for old and rich guys

Regards Stefan

How much does that car weigh again? Something like 4100 lbs. I think its either close or heavier than the M5! The SL is a looker, thats for sure, but its definately a GT type car- and thats OK. Im sure it will sell very well- I think its a big improvement over the outgoing model. Cant wait to see one in the metal.

Rumors has it that they will have an AMG version, first ever for the SL series, with 550 HP (?) and SMG type of transmission. If true, that would be really hard to resist given the car looks sooo good.

That's not a rumor. There is a AMG-version called S55 and it has a supercharged V8 producing 476HP but no SMG I think!

Here is a picture:

The new SL55 is incredibly nice. But there have existed AMG-versions of the SL before such as the SL73 and the SL55.

Is it me, or do those rims look too much like Alpina rims?

The combination of power, luxury and jaw dropping looks is really very tempting. C'mon BMW! Wheres the M2?

Mercedes had a blue SL500 at the Pebble Beach Concours in August. It looked as good if not better than the pictures.

If I was 20 years older and had grey hair maybe I would consider one.

My boss (a big Mercedes fan) has one on order. The only thing he wanted to know about the car was whether he could fit two golf bags in the trunk with the top down.
