Totally depends on the styling for me... If it doesnt look good I dont care if it has 1000bhp... E39 is the best one right now!! I soooo love it

all depends on styling. If they stay with the Bangleized look I would think the likely outcome is Ill get a newer model E39 M5, and then do a little work to it and try to wait out the Bangle era. And I dont totally hate the 7er, but his comments about being a leader is taking people where they dont want to go, I think are very telling and, IMHO very stupid. I think being a styling leader is showing people where they are, and politely pointing out to them where that can take them and what that place looks like. In my ideal auto world, cars' lines work together, not against each other, and trunks dont look like they just landed on the rear end.

On the interior, I think the concept of iDrive is great, but Im reading in reviews that its several menu clicks just to switch between CD and the am/fm- uh, thats not progress.......

Agree with above comments. A zillion hp doesn't overcome an ugly car (low price and a zillion hp might). How many M coupes do you see around? The new 7 series is a serious mistake for BMW. The back end is a mess. Don't make me go there! I'm glad that they have some time to realize this before the new 5 comes out. "I drive" sounds like a pain. I want to push one button and turn up the volume!

The last thing I care about is the styling in a car. Afterall, I'm on the inside and don't see it. I don't feel some overwhelming obligation to satisfy the aesthetic desires of others that didn't pay for it.

What counts is what it does for me and that is some combination of performance, handling, comfort, cool features, audio system, etc.

I hope to keep my current M5 and begin modding it around about the time the new one comes out since the warranty will be all over and done with then. I would go with the new one too. I don't think I will try and get one of the first ones like I did with the one I have now. I may wait a year or two so that any bugs would be worked out and I may be able to get some other features. Luckily I have not had ay problems with mine!

I think even the Bangle creations will grow on us. This may be heresy but I'll run the risk of saying that I didn't buy my beast for its looks. I can overlook a lot of esthetic flaws for a 500hp, 450 lb/ft, 3500 lb, 4-door, 5-seater that looks like 100,000 other cars on the road.

I have to agree with most of you. Style of new beast will be the factor.

As far as keeping my current beast... Well, that's depend on my financial situation... Would be great if I have 2 M5s in my garage? Please don't wake me up..
