Detailing/Cleaning Interior

What do you guys use on the leather dash and other leather items like the door panels in your cars? I used Maguire's leather wipes and it just dried everything out

Try leather care products?

Get some OEM BMW.

Works a charm. And a nice OEM box for in your trunk.

pressure washer... oh, that was the engine cleaning thread. I also like zaino, i think they call it "leather in a bottle" and with a name like that, it's got to be good. Zymol "Treat" works well too (and looks/smells exactly like zaino). Zymol also makes a nice vinyl dressing for non-leather dash and door pannel parts that isnt too shiny/greasy looking. (note this is the 'real" zymol that you'd order online, not the turtle wax zymol that you'd buy at target.

First off, correct me if I'm wrong but the dash is not leather, it's a special vinyl. Also the top part of the door panels, usually black in color matching the dash, is also vinyl. I have always used Lexol with good rusults. For the dash and top of the door panels I use the Lexol Vinylex, it's low gloss and looks very nice.

For the seats and lower door panels I use Lexol Cleaner followed by their Conditioner. I do the cleaner once a year, usually after summer, and condition twice a year.

Just my 2-cents.

I think there was another recent thread that concluded the luxury interior did indeed have a leather dash. For all my leather (including the dash) I use Lexol cleaner when needed), and Lexol leather conditioner. Very happy w/ the results.

I tried Vinylex on exterior bits (trim, tires), and was not pleased w/ the results-- very short term wear. Also, Lexol claims no UV protection IIRC. Instead, I switched to Aerospace Protectant on Atomic80's suggestion, and LOVE it! I won't use anything else.

After you clean it up with whatever cleanser/conditioner, I always hated how dust sticks to the dash.

Fellow member Whatheheck, (Dan) showed me how a simple microfiber towel pulls the dust from the newly cleaned dash. I challenge you to give it a try. Makes maintenance very simple, and can be done in less than a minute!

Zymol Vinyl works very well. Follow it with a damp cloth to disperse the product and then buff off with a microfibre. Leaves a great luster without the sheen. Hope this helps.

See my other thread, but as Doug indicated, on the Luxury package, the ENTIRE interior is leather...

The jury is still out on Sport interior, but consensus seems to be that that dash may be vinyl.
