Want to convert my E39 525i to E39 M5

Does anybody know of a shop where they can make this conversion, make a E39M5 from a E39525i I already have the engine, transmission and differential
Maybe give the email o phone number

Sell the parts on here or ebay and buy an M5. You will end up with a much better product and a heavier wallet.

That is a MASSIVE undertaking, one that will probably wind up costing you more in labor then it would be to just buy an M5, sell the 525i and the engine/transmission. Look for a nice MY2000 and sell the rest of it. You will also have the full M5 suspension, drivetrain, brakes, etc - and most importantly the genuine deal.

I believe DA is doing a 540 to M5 conversion right now (might be done?)... I cant imagine its worth doing vs buying an M5, unless there is some very serious sentimental value...

To the original poster:

It can be done, of course- anything can be done with enough money.

As many have said, to do it right will will cost much more than buying an M5. If you find a shop to do it cheaply.... well, you'll be kidding yourself. Or you'll be driving a POS.

Understand that these comments are not based on snobbery- they are based on folks know what is involved!
