Max Boost on a 4.4l S/C Engine?

Been all over the place looking for info, but most people are doing 3 series

I have a 97 540i (not trying to be a m5) that is blown w/ the Dinan S/C kit. Extensive port and polish, headers, 3" exhast etc..

The Dinan kit is rated for 8psi, and I am getting about 6 because of my improved flow....

Can anyone give me any experience on how much higher I can go in boost???
I am also thinking about water injection

Thx in advance!

Scott

with a proper intercooler and a fresh engine, and high octane fuel.
10-12 psi,

Water injection could be added for extra security - but you shouldnt
tune the car to be dependant on WI.

I have been checking the Air Intake Temp and I get 160 up to 198 (many hot runs) A few shops say the intercooler would be a waste...

My engine has 3k miles on it..

If you could look @ http://www.jamsystems.com/fast540/id3.htm and let me know..

Also do you know any shops capable of this AND tuning... I am in Chgo

Thx!!

Scott
