E39 M5 Wagon?

Folks,

Just noticed a dealer here in Sydney advertising a 2002 M5 Wagon...I thought I read somewhere that BMW didn't make an E39 Wagon. Or did they?

BTW, I've put my 2001 530i (pictures attached) on the market and hopefully will be able to pick up a post 2001 M5 soon, maybe when some of the Aussie M5 owners trade ip to their E60 M5 or maybe the M6. (Here's hoping, anyway!)

Thanks and regards, Pete

No E39 wagons were ever made for sale. A prototype was made for a top BMW exec in Germany. A search might yield that thread. And a mechanic in Ga. did a complete conversion on a wagon to make it an "M5" wagon. Those are the only ones I know about.
Regards,
Jerry

Re: E39 M5 Wagon?

Yup, No E39 wagons in M5 trim. They might be trying to sell an E39 540 wagon, but those were only automatics...boring.
Good luck finding a good E39 M5!

In the US those were automatic only. The rest of the world had a 6-spd manual as option.

With e39 prices in freefall at the moment more home-built wagons will pop up... If one were to take a 540iT 6spd with a million miles and a wrecked m5...... Hmmmmm......
