The 540 radiators are known for snapping but I have never heard of retrofitting an M5 one on there. If memory serves me correctly, the replacement radiator has a reinforced neck. I do not see a reason why an M5 radiaotr could not be used though as the area is the same and there is plenty of room in the 540 engine compartment.
