Anyone hear of using E39 M5 rad on 540i?

The early E39 rads are garbage primarily because the flimsy plastic upper rad hose connector breaks off every 50K miles. Anyone hear anything about retrofitting an E39 M5 radiator into a 540i?

The 540 radiators are known for snapping but I have never heard of retrofitting an M5 one on there. If memory serves me correctly, the replacement radiator has a reinforced neck. I do not see a reason why an M5 radiaotr could not be used though as the area is the same and there is plenty of room in the 540 engine compartment.

Certain enthusiasts have told me the OEM '96 thru '98 528i/540i radiator design has not yet been modified to prevent failure. Folks are replacing them again and again like Walmart light bulbs and some are ruining their motors from no coolant. Unfortunately, the aftermarket cloned the original flawed design.
