I was looking at a used 2001 E39 today, and noticed that the hood liner was melted roughly over the ABS kit. It doesn't look like it was making contact with the liner, but that the heat was so intense that it melted the hood liner. Is this common? Is it indicative of a car that has been driven hard? I ask because it might end up in my driveway very soon if it doesn't look like it has been abused.
