Well

Don't you think they wouldn't have called it a DE for Delimited Edition..

Actually, all E34 M5's are not limited, but especially for the UK market ( read ; AndyE ) they came up with a 50-fold specially limited version (Rosso Red or Orinico) to prevent people from speeding on the M25

Would be nice though...It is an official option though, top speed limiter remove..Saw it on a buildsheet once..Probably of a CSL

The top-speed-limiter an a 3.8/S38B38 M5 is manual and -easily- removed.
-
The LE-cars are NOT -special model-cars-. Officially they are 50 (35+15) cars
ordered from -BMW-Individual- by BMW GB to specific and identical specifications (a dealer edition, if you wish). Engine and drive-line are identical to any other E34 M5 3.8.
-
What's makes them special is:
> they are the production-run-out-cars of E34 M5-RHD-production > the last 50 -
> they are numbered from 01/50 with a ///M-sticker in front of the gear-shifter (but -NOT- in VIN-order !).
