UK based rebuild service.......

Thankfully, I don't need a rebuild yet .......but was wondering who these chaps were?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E34-M5-ENG...QQcmdZViewItem

Anyone on here know of them or if they frequent the board?

Scorchio,

These guys are based just outside Shrewbury,
I bought an exhaust from them a couple of months ago.
Dealt with Richard who showed me around the setup they have there, he is a member of the Board and has both an e34 M5 and also an e39 M5.

Seemed an honest enough chap, and I think LondonMike also may have had a dealing with him since.

Thanks Gavin and Mike for your kind comments, thought I better show my face .
Don't really want to tout my wares here but seeing as there is a link on this thread all I will say, It's as simple as it says on the tin.
Look forward to helping people.
Richard.

Richard .....I asked you some questions via the bay of E and feel that if you could at least post some figures on here with regards to the basic cost of parts i.e. Pistons , rings , small end bearings on a top end rebuild and expected approximate labour rates , then potential customers , considering a rebuild , may take the plunge .

Do you have any ball park figures ?

Hello, apologies for any slow response via e-bay. Just busy.
The book hrs on an s38 is under 30 and the s62 just over. Obviously for removal, installation etc.
The reason I haven't posted parts costs is because I am currently trying to get a bulk discount from Germany and I wouldn't want to scare you off with UK dealer prices. As soon as I have a conclusion, it will be posted on my site and I will PM the various people that have enquired.
The response in the UK is much higher than what I have experienced in the US. Not to annoy the moderators I can be e-mailed at info@motivuk.com directly where I can answer questions in more detail for your engine.
All the best.
Richard.

Hi
I think this should run for now.
Another potential source for service & rebuild in that part of the UK
is sorely needed.
Rather than a tout for business, I consider it a developing excercise for information.
If the promise of sensible rebuild costs is supported by reliability ( time will tell ) then that can only
be a benefit for members.

If the Boards relationship with Motiv develops into a more overt commercial
venture in the future, then I am sure the parties can discuss with Admin.

Thanks & good luck.
Farrell

Richard/Darren (Mod hat on),

Although i am not in imminent need of a rebuild, I think a public posting of prices would not be (should not?) be frowned upon.

As you say Richard, you didn't come here touting for business, nor pretend to be a satisfied customer - unless you're Scorchio in disguise.

And as Darren as alluded to, this board is actually our 'database' for all sorts of info and prices.

However you should be prepared for public airing of dissatisfaction should it arise, as well as the recommendations you would surely receive from happy customers.

Any way good luck Richard, we always need help with this disease!

chance would be a fine thing......

If i were Richard from Motiv in disguise......

Do you think i would be here, working nights, fixing aircraft at a smelly airport where each time you clock on ,you get intrusively searched by a much ridiculed security 'service'?

no way.....i'd be at home with the wife ,having a beer and counting my millions ,looking forward to working on loads of 'uber-bombers' in my day job

Richard you owe me a beer for the unintentional free ad
