Used to be in the BMWCC when I was a student but, as I didn't have a BM, found that they weren't very friendly to me - went to events and got ignored, even when I tried to make conversation with people.
Membership of BMW M Power Club GB has just expired and there isn't really any reason to renew it.
I always find I can get track days and insurance cheaper than the club schemes anyway, simple tech info comes via the board although often the work is so complex it really needs a dealer.
May try BMW Drivers Club at some point to complete the set !

Was bought membership of BMW car Club UK for my birthday just before buying my 535i.
By the time renewal was up, I had the M5, although membership still shows the 535i. Was also bought renewal.
I find the magazine a bit deadly boring, with just the occasional good article. Too many very old models, and thats just the contributors!!
I hate the 2002, there, I said it.
The only redeeming fact is that in their recommended contacts page at the back, I found Footman James Insurers, who beat everone I contacted by several hundred pounds.
(I wasn`t driving for a while, so had no no-claims bonus)

good comment, but if you feel it needs change, then let them know.
After all, the clubs around have to cater for all owners, and if it lacks support from one side, it will make up the difference with other contributers.

I'm also a member of the BMWCC and the M-Power division.
Read the nice glossy magazine when it comes, but don't really take part in any club activities as such. I arrange my own track days as the M-Power ones tend to happen when I can't make them and I can get them cheaper and with a wider choice elsewhere.
The biggest benefit is the insurance - Adrian Flux were the cheapest by about 15% or £150 - even though they do try it on a bit at renewal time. They also took track day cover off without telling me though.
The BMW dealers tend to 'forget'' about the discount scheme when you use them as well!

£700.00 full com for an E36 M3 Saloon 1995 model,
Includes 3 track day cover.
AS Flux & Co. via the BMWCC.
They were the most competitive back in June.
I am 31.
Clean licence from day one. No convictions of any sort at all, ever.
No no claims, one write off 535i in Mar 2001, no no claims before that either !!! (wasnt` driving since trashed sierra 4x4 in 1994)
All prices fully comprehensive.
535i insured at £996 July 2000, trashed car Mar 2001.
M5 insured June 2001 would have been £1750, dropped to £1433 as I clicked over to 31 years old. Insurers said the accident didn`t appreciably increase the premium.
All these are through Footman James, who were cheaper than anyone, and I looked hard an long. Adrian Flux were well out when I have the 535i, so didn`t phone them for the M5
M5 is 1990 3.6. Valued for insurance purposes at about £5000-6000.
Oh, I also had to have a brand new £400 alarm AND a £400+ tracker, and I am also only allowed 5000 miles this year at that price.
No track day cover. No Europe cover. No other driver.
GULP !!
Ivan.
PS. This post reads like I`m a maniac.
For the record, the Sierra XR4x4 hit another car at 15mph that overshot a T-Junction in the wet a night. The 535i I did £3500 damage to the rear wing and Suspension at under 5 mph.
Thats not to say I haven`t had fun at speed, but all my accidents are slow and not really my fault. If I say that enough I will start to believe it too.

My latest premium was £1280 from Adrian Flux, which was £100 dearer than last year even though I now have an extra year's NCB.
I live in Liverpool and do about 20,000 miles a year.
1 SP30 in 1999. 5 years NCB.
The policy is with an agreed £15,000 agreed value.
I also found out recently that the track cover I thought I had last year was not included in this year's premium. When I queried this they told me that it wasn't included last year either - even though my policy said it was. This year's policy omits that though.
If I could find someone cheaper I would change!
I also asked them about what I could do to reduce my premium.
Their options were (1) Get a Tracker system; (2) get a cat 1 alarm; (3) do less mileage; (4) garage the car.
(1) I found out they don't give you a percentage off your premium, but a flat £50. So if you have a £100 policy on a £100 Metro you can save 50%, but for motors like ours it is only a 5% discount.
(2) I paid £600 for a Clifford Concept 600 alarm system just before the policy was due for renewal. When I got my renewal notice it mentioned my old BMW alarm system as cat 2 which is correct. I called them to notify them of the change, and they said it doesn't affect the premium at all whether you have an alarm nor not!?!?!?!
(3) Limited 5000 mile policy took it down to £1046.
(4) The car won't fit in the garage, and the saving on the premium was £10.
