Sunroof headliner

Hello everyone - I last chimed in here last year when I bought my 93 M5. So far I'm really happy, she's run like a champ for 7k miles and I've been learning about the car and fixing little mostly cosmetic things along the way. (Those door handle gasket were fun!)

Here's my problem: the fabric has come loose from the front edge of the sunroof. It's not a major deal as I can tuck it back up, it does not sag when closed, and the venting setting is unaffected, but I would like to fix it. Is this a simple fix with some tape or adhesive? I'm thinking about craft glue, but would appreciate any input.

Thanks!

Steve

You can try 3M Super 7, but when the fabric let's go of the original adhesive, that's usually the sign that it's all going to come down.

you can get some painter's tape and some paper to prevent overspray, hit the area affected, and then use a popsicle stick to tuck everything back into place.

I just tried an application of E-6000 industrial craft adhesive. The wife uses it for mixed media assemblages and swears by it. I will report back on level of success.

Guys
I have been glueing delaminated interior parts on these cars for a few yrs now.
I would recommend Normfest Automtive spray-on super glue.
Its a german based product.
Art no 2898 552

Its stickier than a sticky thing.

Guys - thanks for the tips. We'll see how my first effort turns out and I'll go from there. How does the German stuff work on interior door panels? I've got two that are temporarily held (quite nicely so far actually) by double-sided tape.

Regards,

Steve

Hi
The Normfest spray Superglue works very well on leather & vynyl covered door cards.
Its the best product I have encountered for interior trim parts.

Farrell, what do you recommend for the dreaded E46 door sills, as mine are driving me crazy and I have had them glued twice before and they still come apart last summer.

Hi m8
I would give the Normfest stuff a go.
The only thing is that I would degrease the sill protector & sill.
Apply the spray adhesive to both parts.
Wait a few mins or a until each application becomes tacky, then press together.

For those keeping score, the E6000 treatment did not work. I'll be trying Normfest next.
