Track dusting.
Just an update, as i posted a couple of weeks ago, i upheld M5 honour on the launch of "how fast?" in the U.K.

The web site is now up and runing on www.howfast.co.uk

If I look at the cars taking part in that event, a 10th place is very commendable! Looks like it was a fun day with a number of other great cars to drool over.

Looks like a superb day out... !!

It is a bit annoying that the spec of the 2 VW Golfs have not been entered, as they did so well.

What do you have to do to a Golf MK 1 to beat a 3.8 ///M5 and a Porsche RSR by up to 8 seconds ?????

err.. rebuild it out of balsa wood and ask NASA for a spare engine?

Of the top ten cars, half the drivers are testers for Autocar,

they ran Caterhams OWN R500....(complete with trailer & crew)

Two others inc. Robbie Kerr are instructors at the autodrome,

The 911's were of the full roll cage/semi slick/no carpet variety.

and the two Golf brothers....well, they were fully caged, slick shod stripped shells running Audi 1.8T 20V engines with over 300bhp.!!!

....and a good driver !


But yes it was a most excellent day !!

Alan,

Considering the other cars being full race spec, position of your streetlegal M5 in the top 10 is very impressive!

Did you know the circuit quite well yourself, or are you just a very fast learner?
