Just open your trunk lift the carpet up and look at the spare. As far as running those rims without some sort of insert I remember someone warning that you can screw up the rims if you run them like that for a long time. While you are at it you should check the tire pressure of your spare.

Go to my website, www.abcwarrior.com

Look at the red car, the last picture shows the rims off.

I will post a better picture tomorrow for you on the site. Expect it late Monday night. The turbines I have are off being refurbished, and I will also post pictures of them separated, as there are two parts, the outside cover and the blade unit itsself.

The Turbines and Throwing stars use the same basic wheel with different covers.

The turbines apparently gave better cooling. but the throwing stars look better. I have turbines on mine.

When I asked about throwing stars 3 days ago, I was quoted £75 + VAT per cover.

New turbines were quoted at something like 130+VAT by my local dealer, err.. x4, hence the refurbishment!! I also think they quoted for just the silver alloy bit, not the blade unit.

This is the wheel with the turbines removed. This is the front one, the back looks like a deep dish alloy !!

They are ugly as hell huh ??

You can see the five holes halfway up the spokes, which is where the Turbines go on. The Throwing Star covers do not use these holes, they use a longer wheelbolt to attach.

If you are interested, I`ll post some pics of the Turbine blades taken apart, as I suspect many members have not ever had cause to see the wheels in this state.

I`ve also seen Turbines that are a one piece alloy, ie there is no way to take the star off. I presume these are replicas, and not the real thing.

Oh, and these are in not great condition, hence being taken apart. If the blades come out well, I`ll have the wheels removed, cleaned professionally, and lathed by a specialist wheel place to remove the kerb hits (done b4 I got the car !!).

I`ll also have them balanced with the weights on the other side of the wheel, hidden from view.

Sometimes when I view this page the picture does not appear.

If you have that, then try this.

www.abcwarrior.com

Under the M5 section, last picture down is the image I am trying to post here.

Ivan.

Jetboy, thank you.

Ivan, I took the liberty to put the link myself. Hope that'll work fine this time.

Hi Ydelta,

Could you mail me the correct format for the text to add in pictures, I cannot seem to work it out.

hammerstein@abcwarrior.com

The one you did to my page would be great.

Ta,

Ivan.

PS Love your car, the black paintwork is magnificent, has it been redone? My black 535 had a full respray by a pro in 2000, although the pictures don`t show it too well on the site, but yours is immaculate.

Also, where did you buy the clear indicator lenses, or are they original on your car.
