Cracked tail light

Any suggestions on repairing a cracked tail light?

A small (3cm) oval crack/depression. I'm thinking of securing it with superglue just to make sure the piece doesn't fall out.

Would plasitic model cement be better, or should I just try to find a replacement?

Given various flying road sebris kicked up by tires and the forward direction cars usually move in I'm amazed at how many cracked tail lights there are. I'm sure someone will enlighten me with obvious answer. I too have a barely noticabe crack in mine which I won't do much about until I decide on what style of rear lights I want. I've decided against clears. Don't like it on my silver car.

I would think superglue or any model glue, (I use Hotsuff) that's not going to dissolve plastic will be fine. Just be carefull to not touch any other part of the lens. That stuff has a tendancy to get on your fingers with you knowing it until it's too late. Tip: fine sandpaper is great at removing superglue from your fingers.

just replace it... any second hand e34 tail light will do, its not that a big expense and is a 2minute job at most.
