Which tensioner upgrade is the one I need for my 92 3.6 is it S50 or S52 are they the same? Is there a part No. What needs to be removed as not much room under car, the more info the better. Any feedback would be choice , cheers Steve
I have another concern that its hydraulic and may only work when engine is running but not at start up , is'nt that a worry?SteveT said:Many thanks Raymond, You've been very helpfull. Now will get best price and do the job, cheers Steve

The stealer will say it is incompatible because the computer says so (just as the dealer will also tell you the touring rear ARB is not compatible) - it's not an 'official' replacement, just a proven 'enthusiast' modification. The new design does away with the need for the diaphragm.SteveT said:Gidday Raymond, is there a spring allready in the s50, also is there an Oring seal that goes next to the alloy washer, does anything need to go in hole next to tentioner and who was your supplier. My stealer said it was not compatible with my e34m5 as I had a diaphram {what I thought} a new diaphram was $400 seals 60 cents ,souds like B/S, I just like to get it right first time cheers Steve
Hi Raymond, just wondering got a price and pic from BMA, all good but was concerned about the S50 socket part , it looked like it was brass not steel as the other bit, your pic looked dfferent can you tell me whats right. many thanks Steve.raymond woertman said:Please read this article. SteveT said:Gidday Ray,well your probably right, I thought is was worth an enquiry to make sure its not some cheap replacement as the price was so good its more than 300% dearer from my local BMW dealer , so will now ask supplier if Its been treated or not, and thanks for answering thats very usefull information, thanks Steve
