      rear shock replacement

I have a 1992 M5 3.6 with self leveling suspension. One of the rear shocks is leaking so I have bought a new one from BMW. Does anyone know if i have to bleed the shock when I connect it to the hydraulic self leveling system?? And if I do need to how do I do it and where is the bleed point? I think that it must need bleeding as it would introduce air into the system if not??? Any info would be greatly appriciated.
