        Track time busting

Just like to share with everyone that I attended the launch of "HOW FAST.COM" launched by Jonathan Palmer at the Palmer Autodrome on 14th August 2001.

Road cars were used to set class best time results on the 3.6mile Grand Turismo circuit.

This event was in conjuction with Autocar magazine.

I set a time of 2m 48.80 seconds, with a trap speed on the 1 kilometre straight of 127.56 MPH.

This compaired favorably with the early on leader...a Porsche 964 RSR (complete with semi slicks & stripped out shell ) trap speed of 130.87mph.

        The 911(964)
RSR posted a time of 2m.42.60 sec

Our M5 finished tenth overall on the day out of over 100 cars and drivers, finishing top in it's class/catagory, highest placed four door car and beating all SUBARU's, SKYLINE's, EVO's and that aussie HOLDEN HSV.

full results will be available on the web site in ten days time WWW.HOWFAST.CO.UK

and will feature in Autocar magazine in a few weeks time.

So best wishes to all M5 owners out there, hold your head up high as you muse through the listing and see the cars we TRASHED !!!

        Alan Archer. 93'M5 3.8 nurburgring.

        gg!

        What a car... *dreamish sigh*

Considering that the model is 13 years old, the 3.8l engine is close to 10 years old, and that you drove a '93 (definitly the best year ) it's pretty amazing. Nicely done!

        ...or in one word: Cool.

I'm so glad I got this car!!

It's far from over! I'm still madly in love, exploring new things everyday.
I've been driving it for about a month now and it just continues to amaze me; I'll probably post some pics and tell some stories in a while.
