Mike,

what you doing about the Airfilters? Doesn't look like you've got much space and it might be a job getting equal length inlet tracts on both sides.

I may have a solution for you for the short term.

If I get some time I will pop over and explain.

Sal

Funny enough I've been looking at air cleaner solutions today and I pretty much know how I'm going to do it. Attached a couple of pics from the phone cam, one taken especially to show the space available with the intensive wash tanks in. Note the aly blank where the temp switch normally lives, that's re-located into one of the rad hoses to free up space

And no, the Goddam EWS didn't turn up, tomorrow now allegedly...

I would really be interested on your idea on getting some filtration on there! No space!

Please dont use K&N! If your going to have cone type filters use ITG. They have inbuilt trumpets in the housing.

Let us know of your ideas.

Great minds etc etc

I am already talking to ITG

http://www.itgairfilters.com/airfilt...ection=maxogen

I can fit 2 of them in there JUST, but I may have an even cuter solution that would look stock, which is the goal here. What's been done so far could have been made that way out of the factory, sticking 2 foam filters on display rather goes away from the spirit of the conversion, if you know what I mean..

A clue is that the E39 engine does not need the E34's oil cooler

And the solution may or may not involve black 3 inch guttering downpipe tubing

Very close now, DME/EWS/key coded now and the car cranks. We found that the crank position sensor was smashed when the gearbox was re-fitted, new one ordered and she should be running on Wednesday

Maybe you can use E32 750i parts... 100% factory look.
