Cranked her over for the first time tonight, spins fast and sounds great. We have oil pressure, we have fuel pressure, and we almost have diagnostics. Friday is the day....

The last 2 days have been very frustrating, it's 'finished' apart from the air filters and re-fitting the bumper and washer bottles, but we can't get it to run, or even crank. We suspect it's a coding problem between the DME/EWS/key... our boffin will be there Monday night hopefully to sort the last bits out

A few pics attached from my phone cam, the complete conversion has been done with BMW parts, I defy you to tell that it wasn't made that way out of the factory

Oh, and the bonnet shuts too

Great nice job Mike, only thing there´s bad about your car now, is that the driver seat is on the wrong side of the car

Thanks guys, getting it running will either be a 5 minute job or hours and hours of tracing and checking. Watch this space...

The good news is that it appears that all of the wiring is correct, we can talk to both the engine and the E34's electrical system via the in-car OBD connection which in itself is a huge achievement. All of the engine and DME checks out perfectly as expected

The bad news is that the new EWS is knackered, we can't talk to it and nor can the DME. No idea how or why... new one will be fitted and coded on Wednesday night
