19" Breyton Spirit Wheels

Hi

I am considering 19" Breyton Spirit Wheels for my M5 Touring? Does anyone have these, and what sizes are recommended front and rear ?

Cheers

Miksta

19's are way too big..Car will be nervous on ride...I am even contemplating going back to 17's, currently on 18's...

I like the rim style though, Breyton seems to be not very popular amongst the E34 crowd though...Considered Racing's under the E38 but came to sense that its not a racy car..

If I was you, I'd get me some BBS Le Mans rims! M-pars are the best OEM offcourse for the touring

Hi Miksta

I fully agree with Wout-our M5 Guru don't do it.

The car will be so un-balanced and I think they tend to make the E34 models look a little "over wheeled".

If you can stick with 18" as a maximum. OEM or BBS would be my recommendation.

BTW the last Touring I saw on 19" wheels was not able to enjoy the Ring......such a shame to have such a fantastic and rare car and not to beable to enjoy it!

Simon

Ok guys - thanks for the comments, I think will look at 18" wheels instead.

I almost bought a set of Breytons a while back, But I heard rumours that they were 'soft' and distorted very easily, this was backed up by a couple of board members so I decided to leave them alone and went for M para's instead.(A search will bring up the thread) I must say there is quite a vast difference in the feel of the car when changing between 17's and 18's,a better ride quality with the 17's IMO. Also the higher gearing/drag brought on by the bigger wheels is quite noticable (on my 3.6 anyhow).19's surely would be dreadful? Saying that I still wouldnt part with the 18's though!

I changed back to the 17 TS's - I had the M5 E39 wheels on, I saved just over 2kgs per corner swithcing back to the 17" originals.
Its purely subjective but those 18s looked fantastic.

just curious;

Doesn't a 19" lo pro combo have the same effective diameter as 17" 45 or 55?

And if so how does that adversly effect handling? (giving equal weights ofcoarse)

Finally got them under...

P.S The car is "slightly" dropped with photoshop so don't wonder why it is so low
