Post # 2000..Reflection and a very BIG THANK YOU

Gentlemen Drivers,

As this is a certain benchmark that doesn't come so often, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you guys for making me so addicted to this board. Never, ever have I encountered a group of people so diverse and from all walks of life combined by a shared passion that has had such a big influence on my life in various levels. My car has made great improvements because of the knowledge provided by this very board. I hope my own contributions have found their way to the right people so they can get the same results out of their cars that I pursue.

As you all know I am not often lost for words, but in this case, I will keep it short and simply thank some of the guys that have become friends over an internet board...I don't like blowing sunshine on anybody's rectum, but I figured it appropriate:

At first Stevie, thank you so much for all the things I picked up from you and all those brainstorm sessions along with the millions of minutes we have spend on the phone talking about CARS CARS CARS ( and some insignificant other stuff) Your friendship and knowledge are very much appreciated. My gratitude for lending me the Renault for 2500km can not be expressed enough....Thanks doesn;t even scratch the surface.

Farrell , thanks for the knowledge and understanding I received from you from day one on this board. It is a privilege to know a person with both the practical as well as the theoretical knowledge. Also a very high amount of respect for the banter-department, I never knew anybody who took the pi$$takes better or retaliated in a better way. The image of Die Alte Scheune Sticker Psstake will last forever in my mind.. The Sabine Schmitz encounter was great. Thanks for everything mate

GoneAgain was the first ever to reply to my post, and the board member who shares the same taste in colors! The closest other Sebring to my home, and a good companion for wrenching or at least attempting to ! Your no-nonsense way of dealing with things is unique to the "Down Under" mentality I respect so much. Thanks for the confidence you placed in me in part ordering deals etc.

Simonal became a close friend over the various continent trips he made. Thanks for your listening ear at all times and well-placed advise in all matters. I was glad to repay you the favour by having those E36 mirrors vapoured mate!

AndyE , although lately less active on this board deserves a lot of credit for the lap he gave me at the Nordschleife. I was very impressed by both car and driver, and the notorious "snow" lap was unforgettable. Sideways through Adenauer , twice on full opp lock. Well done mate. Your wit and linguistical OT puns are amongst the best I have ever exchanged...

M540iLE aka David for making me realise that it was WAY too late for posting on the board whenever his green light came on around CET 4:00 am..Thats a tell-tale sign! Thanks for the support and decent replies, you are a true asset to this board and owner of two very impressive cars that can already be judged without travelling all the way to Hobart..

Illjah for sharing the same taste in cars and the proper points he takes when it comes to small details...Like moaning all day about my orange indicators! I know you didn't have quite the easiest period with the Sebring being down and all, but I must say you take it all like a man, respect to that. Thanks for participating in the Mini-Sebring meet, was one of the nicest pic shoots I ever took of my car..

Jahangeer thanks for the PM exchange we had on numerous occasions, was fun talking to a scandinavian and find out that we are not all that different in most aspects..When I can afford it, I will surely visit you anywhere this year as I am very curious about Sweden, and the Schrick'd 3.8 on the E39 rims! Lots of your discrete-funny replies made me actually laugh out loud..

Tomba although we are both busy most of the time, I would like to thank you for the mind-levelling we had and the advise you gave me on many occasions. You are an underrated member in this board with extended knowledge of both theory and practice...I would say a true electronics-expert and a true M-enthusiast..

All the other who have made this board so big for me, Hertfordshire1, Jon Baker,FinalEdition, the whole of the german section at the NS, Raymond Woertman ( for the short time we spend speaking to eachother I can figure why most guy refer to you as the Guru...Will be checking out that E28 as soon as I am close to you!) Karl M5touringReg, Geach ( bring that sebring to Amsterdam mate!) , Mystic ( Spa,Chimay,Tokyo ) Burton ,Yorldi ,BMWE21net ,Lowplainsdrifter,DChyde,Nix, Mr T,Ashok,Gustav, M5killer,Midnightsun,Dirim,Cor Jan,BANKROBBER and many many others that are not specifically mentioned..You are truly exceptional people.

If any of you guys ever visit Holland, I would take it as an insult if you don't meet up!

Thanks guys,

Wout/Sebring NL, 91 E34 M5 Sebring Grey

You're welcome mate. Just one thing: If I EVER find anything even remotely resembling an airfreshener in my cars again I swear your Sebring is upside-down in a ditch!!!!!!

Hardly noticed you posting m8
It was a pleasure.

BTW, I did not realise you managed to get parked up on the Nordschleife.
You could have got closer to the kerbstones m8.

Congrats Wout! I hadn't appreciated you've only been on here for 9 months. When I arrived 6 months ago I just assumed you were one of the mods
I notice we have more in common than the M5 - rifle shooting and motorbikes.
Keep up the good work!

Wout - great post. It sums up why I spend so much of my time on this Board. It isn't just the sharing of a common interest in E34 M5's, but a convergence of so many different and thoroughly interesting people at once that has made the past 12 months on here so fascinating.

And can I say Wout, I wasn't sure how to take you when you first arrived (looking at some of your early posts - I think no-one knew what to make of this new guy from Holland), but it didn't take long for you to prove that you were a genuine and vibrant M5 lover who had a lot to contribute.

Congratulations on the 2000th post.

Oh, and one small thing - the New Zealand flag and the Australian flag are different ...
