Newbie, sup gents

Just picked up my M5 a week ago, took me 6mo to find the this pristine one owner example. I'm so stoked, been wanting one since I was in high school when the E28 M was introduced. Here are some pictures, the color is rare here in the states, not so much over the pond I guess.

some wheels I found, polishing the lips, thinking of going with black centers.

Welcome bro! Nice colour. I actually like the 5 spokes minus the turbine covers on your car.

Not yet unfortunately. I want to do it with a friend of mine but it's looking like we won't have a free day at the same time for a few weeks. I'm considering just having it done at the garage.

Likewise - love the colour. And welcome to the site.

Although I think your new wheels look good, I think it looks great with the Turbine covers on (particularly in the shot where the car is moving) - but I am a bit of a traditionalist in that regard - plus I think there is an element of 'retro-cool' combined with 'ultimate sleeper' with Turbine covers.

Kind regards

Good looking car! I'm also a fan of the turbines, and they do look better in the flesh.

Welcome to the board.

Oh! And don't close your wallet yet!!!

It's not necessarily that anything will need to be fixed, seems you US & Aus guys pay over the odds, but generally get extremely good condition cars.
Here in europe we can get them much cheaper but with a few things to do. it can be stupid stuff; boot struts, seat struts gongs etc. Also I'll have added E32 4piston brakes and new ACS/Koni suspension all round (ACS SLS shocks even). A few guys have all done or are about to do suspension , generally deleting SLS or replacing EDC. Just normal stuff when the cars have around 200000km. A lot of us use them as daily drivers.

But it's like when I had sports bikes, it's not enough to just keep it running. You will really want to keep it in tip top shape.

That means very regular oil changes, about every 8000km in my case. Throttles balanced, valve clearances every second service, 4 wheel alignment etc etc etc.
Not to mention fuel & tyres.

Oh and trips to nice little place in the German countryside.

It's worth it though!

Enjoy

T

btw, no cabin filter on my car
