Most fun so far

The most fun I've had yet was last Saturday coming home from a quick trip across the border to pick up some parts. I was driving as a normal pace when all of a sudden I'm overtaken by a 993 cab and an S2000 playing cat and mouse. Game on! 4th-3rd+pedal. Now I don't know the stats on either car by heart and there was traffic so the "straight line" tale may be differnet but... I caught up quickly to the two of them, 993 in front. The S2000 was giving off a hell of a wail, Sounded like a bike really. He was easily overtaken though. I thought for a moment whether or not I wanted to challenge the 993. What the hell I thought. I put the pedal down and gave chase. In and out of traffic for a bit I half didn't expect to manage a chase but next thing I know I'm right behind him, following as he darts in and out of traffic. I was happy to follow as I felt I was at my risk taking limit among other people in other cars. That and the fact that my front shocks are junk, (new ones waiting in the boot!) I could almost feel his fustration and he was unable to shake this relatively behemoth sedan! Definately the most fun I've had yet sinse owning. Oh yeah, my passenger was asleep the whole time too!

At speed is was almost like the car took on a new character and gave me new confidence. I can barely wait to get the new shocks on!

Nix

Yes, I was suprised! Considering the weight difference and that they're both 3.6's I figured he would have walked.

I'm sure the turbo would be a differnt story

Don't forget that the 993 is a lot harder to drive 100% than the M5 IMHO. Other side is though that most 993 owners are serious people by now, as they are about the same price as 996's so the posers will get the latter model. Which leaves the 993 in the hands of increasingly more skilled drivers.

You've just discovered what made an M5 the daddy in it's day. Gotta remember the power output was 5bhp under a Porsche Turbo back then, and a lot easier to drive!
