US side markers

Can someone from US/Canada take pictures of the original side marker wiring harness.
Where does it go in original installation? Does the side marker blink when using turn signal?

I can't help with the harness picture, but the side marker, if you are referring to the red and orange reflectors/lights in the bumpers only light up with the lights turned on--they do not blink.

They do not as original? I thought front ones should blink by the law. Well I was wrong.

But I love to get pictures from factory assembly.

Rockwell--in the US, we didn't get side REPEATERS until 1995--that is, the side blinker mounted on the front quarter panel. The side 'markers' or side lights on the front and rear bumpers just light up with your headlight/parking lights. Orange ones on the front bumper and red on the rear. Want to make sure we are talking apples to apples--do you really have a US-spec car in Finland?

It's very popular in Europe to put US side-markers on cars, in many countrys you have to put side-repeaters, and that's not fun, drilling in the front fenders(=, if you put the front side-markers and have them blink, you can evoid this.

Some countrys that demands side-repeaters are, Denmark, Sweden, UK, Italy, Japan, I don't n´know all by law, but every car have them, in Sweden from model year 1986.

All 1995 and later BMW cars have sid-repeaters, all over the world.

Regards Stephan

Yes I'm talking about those yellow and red lights

Strange that those yellow side markers don't blink in US-spec BMW. Those sure blink almost every other US-spec eurocar. I have seen those in like in GOLF III. For now I have to use ugly yellows in front but I'm looking for those white ones for reasonable price.

Rockwell--I'm sure you can tap your turn signal line and have them activate like the front turn signals--I can't help you with that but good luck!

Can someone please check where does the US sidemarkers take power in original setup.

Or if someone who has put those in euro model could tell me where did he/she take power to those.

Yeah, as already stated, these sidemarker lights on the molding are simply running light/parking lights. I've heard the same with the E30 folks overseas that it's all the rage to swap the US sidemarkers onto non-US cars. That just seems funny to me, as that's what everyone stateside is swapping off their E30/E34s.

I know. But can you share me the information where the original wiring harness is connected? Picture would be more than nice.
