Update on Eibach Springs

All,

I just thought I'd give you an update on the Eibach springs I had fitted to
my car nearly 2 weeks ago. The ride is much better, fine bumps have the edge
taken off them whereas the stock springs used to transmit every little bump.
The only problem with the eibachs is that they are too soft, much softer
than the original springs, and given that they are also shorter, the result
is that I can easily hit the bump stops over large bumps, or even when
cornering hard.

So, after driving across a railway line today, and having the front spring
bottom out again, I've decided that I'm giung to swap them over for
something else. The obvious choice is the progressive H&R's, any other
options?

John

I'm very interested in your findings after that swap!!! Your not the only one with the speed-bump problem....

Mine work fine on track though!

I have just inquired about the eibach springs as I still need to source them for my fronts. They tell me the general difference is split between:

518-520-525 untill '91, 91> gets different springs. -30mm

530-525tds, all makes, -30mm

540 , -25mm to -35mm depending on axle weight ( 1040kilo or 980, last one not listed at Eibach)

No listing for E34 M5.

Which should I get? at € 300 a set I am thinking about another brand. Perhaps H&R.

Eibach springs on the E30 M3 and E30 325i are softer than the stock springs.

Looks like they are doing this accross the board then.

I'm glad I didn't buy Eibach's!

The springs I got were for the 535i, -30mm. I should have just stumped up the extra $$$ for the H&R's in the first place....
