No andy, I really beg to differ...It is a common mistake, but I fear lots of drilling and sawing is needed to make them fit... Drilling in the metal even!

I just got negative word from Simonal though that I can't fit the carbon E36 hood I got me on E-bay either...There goes $ 2000 I'll never see again..better pay attention next time and get the proper E34 one!

so no-one got any links to places that value a car based upon its individual condition - like for "classic cars" (which the e34 m5 is without a doubt...)?

No but before we zoomed off topic again I did post some I think useful information regarding getting in touch with the BMW Car Club since you like links here is one...http://www.bmwcarclubgb.co.uk/index.html

Not sure if it will help. But they may be a good starting point.

In Holland you can get a value determination, which is basically a look over of the car, but the majority of these reports I have received with trade-in cars are a load of crap. One of them even stated 'the inspection was carried out without the use of a hoist' accompanied with some pics of a dodgy MX-5 on a streetcorner and a sky-high value conclusion..despite 'minor rust spots'*...

These reports always give a value for the car that is way too high, and owners use it in sales, resulting in many conflicts on my behalf!

Doesn't matter though, if the certified ''''inspector''''' determines a certain value, and the report is acknowledged by insurance companies, the value of that report will be the yardstick for further value & depreciation.

I am sure something like this is possible in UK too. Just pay some @sshole a few tenners and get yourself an acknowledged BS report ( just pay him extra to prevent him from driving though!) . Premiums will be higher but our firm actually uses reports from years back to extract a higher payment for customers in the case of a total-loss or damage deal with insurance cy's

* very appropriate in this case Al!
