removing resonator/muffler

I know there have been a million discussions already...

but my M5 is just a tad too quiet! if I remove the resonator what kind of sound increase will there be?

I also was talking to a german master mechanic who used to build E30 323's for racing... He was saying that I have a good chance of burning my exhuast valves if I replace the muffler/cats etc with free flowing stuff... He said that his shops attic if filled with 20 or so heads with burnt valves from guys who take off the cats/mufflers and such.
he was familiar with my car, but i'm sure you guys have more experience
thanks

Is your guy familiar with remapping the the fuel & spark maps to take account of leaning mixtures due to reduced exhaust gas flow resistance.

Some back pressure is still reqd to encourage scavenge from the exhaust headers.

Many have eliminated the cats where legal & mapped as appropriate.
