///M technician signature found - pic!

As noted on my towbar thread, while removing my rear bumper cover over the week-end, I came across the elusive ///M technician signature.

It is very faded and covered in dirt - and when I ran my finger over it to remove the dirt, I removed almost as much of the signature, but I managed to take a pic nonetheless.

It appears to say 1.04.90 - which may be possible, but my car is a June 1990 build. So not too sure.

Also have posted a gratuitous pic of the M5 in the garage with my other two cars - a 2005 5.7 litre V8 Holden Calais and the M540i.

Cheers

Lucky b*stard! Nice stable mate, I was talkin to someone from down under yester&today and found that the Holdens hold quite the reputation and are common sight.

Thanks Wout.

The Calais is a very nice car - it is the top of the range of the regular wheelbase large car Holden range - so comes with about 95% of the kit a well specced 760 would, but at 1/4 the price! So good value here. Puts out 230kw and bags of torque, so a tidy performer as well, although the suspension is a bit too soft for my liking.

It is used as our family car - primarily by the wife. The 2 BMW's are mine and Sarah never drives them (though could if she wanted to). The kids (both under 5) never go in the BMW's.

I filled all 3 up with petrol on the week-end. About A$270, or 170 Euro gone just like that!

Ah well, all worth it to be driving real cars.

Cheers

My guess is that the first two digites are I.O. (In Ordnung), and then the date.. wich perhaps was 4.6.90?

Atleast this is how it was written on mine..

Thanks for that Donati. That is a big help. I think it could be right as there is a large gap between the '4' and the '90', which could easily have fitted '06'.

Cheers
