Both coupe and sedan mirrors need to be heavily modified, just in different ways. The sedan model needs the support ground off and redrilling, but will seal. The coupe model needs redrilling at least. The coupe model base is not flush on the window edge. Its does not seal very well. So, please, get the M5 models.

Lucky for me that I got the right mirrors I guess.
Apart from that, the mirrors wiring connector does NOT fit drectly into the door wiring plug connector of a rhd harness.

You need to remove the terminal pins from the connector on the end of the mirror harness.

You then have to power the mirrors & pin out the wiring order to ensure proper operation.
Both door cards need to be removed & all wiring for both mirrors needs to be accessable.
Some spare 15 amp bar fuses will be reqd to in case of a shortout.

Once the correct pinout has been achieved, Add a small pice of shrink sleeve to each of the connected terminals & joint them together.

Bobz.
I will get looking at the spacer after the planned trip to the Nurburgring.
I just cant be asked to strip the door card off again yet with so many other Jobs to do on the cars in the next 10 days.

Be assured that when one is made, you shall have one as well.

Cheers
Farrell

I note that Cyrus states in his signature that he has 'Evo' style mirrors from the factory on his 6 speed 3.8. Does anyone know if that is a LHD or a RHD?

If a RHD, could be interesting.

Cheers

Ahh...suspected as much.

Thought it was a little too obvious to be missed.

Cheers

OT a bit but so true, a differentiation that makes this my favorite board. I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at some of the comments like "200 lb G/F's" and "jackass@mboard.com" (if there are prizes given out for clever remarks, that one is deserving). Kudos to Farrell for having the forsight to start such a great thread!

yes mstupp, we are very funny indeed.

Did everyone notice this getting the 'Five Star' approval? Has that something to do with UK guys fueling the banter?

Or our vigorous law-enforcement Moderator? ( could very well be the multi-red-shaded-M5-standup-comedian-mod as well though)
