Electrical system problems

Hi,
The doors donīt unlock with the key in my car. A mechanic did try to hook battery in the bulb light sockets inside the trunk.
He didnīt check polarity first and now trunklight didnīt work.
What other damage in the electrical system may have occurred? Should I be worried?
Thank you

I'm taking it you are locked out of the car huh ?

Ok, go to the drivers side door,
insert key,
Raise the handle up as if to open the door.
At same time rotate key in lock in direction to open the door...
Continue to rotate key past the normal unlock point..
ie: about 45 degrees further than normal to unlock.

The button on the drivers door should raise.

Warning...the barrel may well be stiff as it doesnt ever go this far normally,
so be patient & carefull with your key.

This procedure will work, as it's in the handbook.

As for the trunk lamp, it's probably just a fuse.

Regards,

Alan.
