Upgrades started

Hi ppl

Got the upgrades underway
Original M spokes on their merry way from the fatherland......twice the price of copies but what the hell eh!

Whiteline sway bars from bonny scotland supposedly en-route as well

Brakes are a problem though! Those floatin disc set up thingys are a tad on the dear side Where do I get a good price on AP ?

On a technical note is a KDS alignment worth the £115+gordon Brown ?
I am thinking of doing it when i get the wheels and sway bars on
Any comments
A couple of picies to see how my baby looks

As Stevie Sam says, KDS is a must.
It should really be checked every yr or whenever any suspension related parts are disturbed.
If you go for AP calipers, I would suggest getting ones with piston dust seals.
Race parts of any description soon get seized & corroded in Northern Europe.
Salt , mud & spray make a great poltice for suspension & brake parts.

Ive just reset my Nissan suspension which is all aftermarket racing parts.
Everything adjusts...pre-load ,height ,camber & toe...
All seized.
We had to take most of the parts off & strip them, repaint & regrease before alignment could be successfully undertaken.

The car looks great..
I think they call that colour Ivan Dias Red...lol

car's a charm, red polishes up so great...You might wanna consider having the pain teflon sealed on order to prevent the usual red fade.

Thx for the comments lads

Teflon sealed?....I take it you mean lacquered
I have thought about that but have yet to find a reliable painter to do the job properly. The last thing I want is load of runs down my lovely paintwork.
The red is a pain to keep but it does give real pleasure when its shining. When I look outside at the time of writing this it is hail- stoneing! Thank goodness for Autoglym

Will keep in touch

No I mean teflon sealed. It's applying a coat of teflon to the non-metallic ( weak) paint in order to prevent ot from the common flair loss.

Runners in the paint are kindergarten jobs.

Inquire at a real polishing shop ( guys that polish alloy and stuff) , there are quite a few providers of the Teflon service, all under different names.

Off course clearcoats are the way to go, several layers of laqcuer have been applied to my other car, which is red. Pics of the result can be found here

No, this car is much redder than mine! The paint is really suffering with age on my car now, every pic I take needs colour correcting to get even close to red!

Luckily I just met someone who own a paintshop locally, so now saving funds for some TLC. They're going to see what they can do without spending more on paint than the cars worth!

Stevieboys car looks lovely. The wheels look in mint condition, a surprising choice to go M-Parallels when the 'Stars are in such good nick. Still, if sold on ebay they'll make a few quid, if for sale, and if a board member doesn't get them first!

Regards

Ivan

Hi Ivan

I believe your car is the same colour.... Hard to keep a shine! pfffffffffffff!

Anyway, the wheels were refurbed about a year ago and are still in perfect condition as you see. There is a board member who wants to buy them (if i can find him). I just think the M spokes will really brighten the car even further
I have included another picture of the wheels in close view

thx

I think that might be the brightest red car I've ever seen!

The only time you see bright red on a BMW these days is if you look at some of the new models' seats... Eurghhh.
