Alternator Regulator Replacement Technique Query!

Hi,

Have had Wane Ramseys alternator in the car a few weeks, but it looks like the regulator has failed. Battery voltage measured with the engine running is randomly anywhere from 13.8v to 17v, often fluctuating between 15.2v and 15.8v.

Windscreen wipers are as fast on "slow" as they should be on "fast" and "fast" is now manic! Fans vary with engine speed, engine "kicks" at high rpm and the ABS light comes on after a kick! Have stopped revving!

Have bought two regulators, but remember what a pain it was to remove the alternator. Will it rotate with only the bottom bolt attached, twisting without removing the lower bolt, around enough to fit the regulator? That bottom bolt is a real pita to remove so if I can avoid it, I will!!

Hope it doesn't rain Saturday!

Regards

Ivan
